Dutch Quinoa is nominated for the ZLTO Initiative award 2014, great!!
ZLTO is an
Association of entrepreneurs in the ‘green area’ in the Netherlands. They
represent 16,000 members, who they support in realizing a sustainable position
in market and society.
The nomination is a great recognition for us: me and my colleagues, the Dutch farmers who joined us during our first year and all other people who are involved in promoting Quinoa as an 'new' important food and crop in resp. our diet and agriculture.
And now, ofcourse we want to win the Initiative award 2014, where it will help us developing more support for this new quinoa chain. We want to use the price for further research to the cultivation of quinoa, where we try to find ways to lower the risks for the farmers, to improve yields and the sustainability of the crop. This will not only support the sustainablity of the cultivation of the crop, but also the whole production chain, as the cultivation is a very important part of it.
So, I invite everyone to vote for us (till December 10, 2014).
